Here are some photos from the March 1 opening of "Wood
and Water", an all mokuhanga exhibit at Wenniger Gallery in Rockport,
Ma. Matt Brown, Paulette Nejko, Sandy Wadlington and I had lots of fun
hanging the show in a small, tightly packed space.
My apologies to Paulette for not having any photos to
share of either her or her beautiful work. Paulette had a four and a
half hour drive and hadn't arrived yet when my friend took the pictures.
Paulette is a Baren member so hopefully she'll have some photos to send
in, too???
For the demo, I used Matt Brown's portable printing bench. The top
section slides under the printing table like a drawer. The box on which
I'm sitting and the box with the dampened prints (on left) fit into
each other and fit neatly inside the drawer.
I'm using a plastic disk baren over a sheet of mylar to print the first
block of my new cat print.
Here I'm preparing to add a few drops of water to my brush. Matt's
blocks for his demo print are in the front of the photo.
The main display area for my prints is on the second floor of the gallery.
I was lucky
to get a relatively clear area in the very packed gallery.
Sandy was teaching a workshop on the day of the opening but her small
gems were well received. See the red dot? We're hoping the walls have
just a row of nails six weeks from now.

This is Mary Ann Wenniger, the co-proprietor of Wenniger Gallery and
a printmaker herself. The place truly is oceanfront ... see the fish
jumping? The seagulls are fake.
Here's Matt watching while waiting for his turn to print. Mr. Wenniger
is doing his best to distract me by attaching a mike and telling me
to speak while he films the action.
The show is up until April 26, 2003 so if anyone is in the area, please
