Subject: White Line - Tree
Posted by: Ellen Shipley
Less than pleased with the white line approach to this print. I inked the tree and powedered the ornaments and stray splotches but the job is labor and time consuming and less than satisfactory. Short cuts always take longer. I'll go ahead and carve a second block of ornaments and the window scene and just carve away all the ornaments on the tree. Less time and labor in the long run. I can use the back of the block tho that's a new concept as well. Learn something new with every project. |

Subject: Sizing Disaster

One good corner.... I'll lead in with the one good corner of the one good (well, usable) half sheet from my first attempt at sizing my own paper. I used--I thought--a relatively weak recipe: 45g rabbit-skin glue to 23 g alum to one liter of water. Sizing pot/double boiler |

Subject: More Brazilian citizens join the Great City!

Two great contributions from Fernanda Maria de Castro Solla and Maria do Rosario de Castro Solla - Santos Sao Paulo BRAZIL. The two blocks came together so I'm posting them together. The newspapers were a joy to "read", even though my Portuguese is not really good at all. But, knowing Spanish, I could almost understand the gist of what was being written. |
