bareners-
that is interesting to note-
that ATCs are always signed on back
thanks for alerting us to that
i think i will print more for that artists greeting card market
and for business cards also
my artist neighbor says that around here
(middle of nowhere) they sell for $20
what are they going for elsewhere?
i signed mine on the front
running up the right side
since this is a set for BAREN 100th
i used Stonehenge Rising to give them some substance
even tho it's a little harder to print
it was worth it for the solid feel of the little print
i am packing them up today
so they should enter our precious mail stream
this afternoon
gillyin in it- takes- two- weeks- to -get- there -from- here MAINE
My small prints are nearly ready to enter the mail system
(end of week for sure) -Just have to say what absolute fun
it's been to print them! Since I only hand (baren) print
it's obviously been so much easier and faster than large
blocks - my subject is a drawing I made on the block from
some lovely little seashells gathered on a Florida beach
last winter - embellished by a 2nd block of seaweed which
with my hit and miss system of registration has resulted in
a varied edition - also couldn't resist slight colour
variations as I mixed inks which made it all even more
pleasurable. BTW they are bleed prints so will have to be
signed on the back - what a bore to do.......
shall be looking forward to seeing everyone's little prints!
cheers
Louise
Total trivia follows:
Earlier this year I re-did my main logo on the index page on my website
www.1000woodcuts.com
Well, today I was making smaller logos for my various stores and I had to
laugh!
Apparently I had been showing the world Limited Editon Hand-Pulled Woodcuts
all year. It's fixed now but it sure as the dickens has been there all
along. Since my stores all carry the same but smaller logo, it was there
too.
Sigh.
Nobody noticed though, or if they did they were polite enough not to tell me
to fix it.
Drat, back to the drawnig broad.

I had plans to go to print week in NYC Nov. 4-7, however my accommodation plans have fallen through. Anyone know of an inexpensive place to stay in NYC?

Subject: Printing - Arches 88
Posted by: Ellen Shipley
I haven't printed on Arches 88 in ages, but I remembered it's crisp treatment of woodcuts, so I ordered some. I really like it, and its perfect for the mini-cards for ex. 50.
It's dry as all get out here today and its sucking the moisture out of the ink. This is the 7th print in a row and it's getting all gunked up.
Cleaning the block and refreshing the ink and getting back to it. ;-]
