Hi Larry,

Nice to see you on Baren Forum. I'm sure you'll be able to find all
the help you need here. You can jump right in to the Baren Forum
print exchanges. There's no need to wait until you've "perfected"
your technique; the exchanges are open to all.

It was good to meet you at the Mokuhanga Conference and I look
forward to seeing your Ontario/Algoma work as it develops.

best,
Annie

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. My husband is itching to get to Home Depot for me. I may never see him again.

Larry, you are singin' my song. I remember you from the conference and just sent you an email. Hope we can talk!

It was a pleasure to look at Walter Phillips' prints. There is one in the colored print section where he's printed the landscape in the background very lightly, to look like it's obscured by fog. Very cool. Great idea. Suzi SM

I made a woodcut book, you can check it here:
http://yeh-yeh.blogspot.com/2011/09/la-noche-oscura.html

that was a lot of fun, speaking to myself and practicing moves. Its not
formally editioned, but it will be , later.
Book is just a book, but blocks looks totally awesome. I must publish some
pics of them later.

I would say that shipping in a tube is a fine idea, but shipping can be very
expensive. You can actually save yourself a lot of money by putting your
shipping tube in a square box and shipping that. At that point you no longer
need a pvc tube, a cardboard one will do fine because you have extra layers
of protection. And you don't have to worry about the end cap popping off. I
have found that it can be the difference between $30 shipping and $10
shipping.

Subject: Mystique Series #16 : the design ...
Posted by: Dave Bull

Time to have a look at the design for #16, and where it came from. And we have to go back quite a long way ... nearly 400 years. For this entry in the 'Mystique of the Japanese Print' series, we're going to 'step outside' of the Japanese tradition for a moment, and have a look at a historical precedent ...

Before we begin though, let's slip back around ten years or so, to a day one summer when my daughter Fumi was here on a visit from Canada. At that time (this was before she entered university), she was running a little business, taking advantage of her bilingual abilities and her frequent travel back and forth across the Pacific during her school holidays.

Subject: Hay-On-Wye Exhibition
Posted by: Andy English

Last Sunday was the Private View of an exhibition featuring my garden and wildlife engravings at the Brook Street Pottery & Gallery in Hay-On-Wye. Also on display were Maureen Minchin's stunning decorated earthenware. The morning was particularly busy and, by the time I slipped away for a late lunch where were a pleasing number of red dots to be seen.

I waited until the end of the day before taking out the camera and making a record of the room:
