I am in San Antonio with planning meetings for the Baren Summit San Antonio, and it is getting exciting! We are fleshing in the schedule with more special offerings. There will be an exhibit at the Aztlan for the work of baren participants called Peaks and Valleys: Summit Relief Print Exhibition. The show will run from June 9 - 30th.
San Antonio Museum of Art is well known for it's extensive Asian collection. John Johnston, Coates-Cowden-Brown Curator of Asian Art arranged for the Summiteers will get a special viewing of the collection's Japanese prints not currently on display. Afterward we can lunch and explore the new Riverwalk Museum Reach runs right behind the museum and is full art "enhancements". This is a link to some pictures of it:

We will also visit the McNays print room, which specailizes in prints from the western hemisphere, inclucing many modern masters such as Mary Cassatt, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Pablo Picasso, Diego Rivera, and Jasper Johns.
Lyle Williams, curator of Prints and Drawings at the McNay, will juror the Relief Prints for Relief, a benefit exhibition for the Japan tsunami victims to be held at the same time as the Baren Summit show.
So you can see that we will have a printastic time in San antonio, and you should be here! Get on over to barenforum.org and sign up!
