Hello everyone!



My baren bonnet is worn out from printing over the weekend, I'm about three
blocks short of a full print (some of my cats would claim I'm also a few
hairs short of a full set of whiskers, but that's another matter). What's a
baren bonnet? Ahhhh.if the Native Americans on this continent would have
printed the Japanese method, they would have done so with baren bonnets, not
with those dry and crumbly bamboo covers. I will post on my blog sometime
after I run a few more tests on this incredible invention, if I may say so
myself.



I have now received four sets of prints:

Michael Gaffney (the winner)

Olek Wozniak (silver medalist)

Tom Kristensen (tied for 3rd)

Lynita shimizu (tied for 3rd)



The rest of you, get your barens moving!

I have heard from most of you and happy to report that everyone will be
fairly close to the new and improved extended deadline of having prints in
my hands by February 4th. That's 17 days away so there is plenty of time to
claim a bout of insanity, quit your job, get to printing, and then try to
regain your former life.



Chop chop!!!

Maria, still coughing but totally ignoring it I mean really does this evil
sickness-thing ever go away?

I had an opportunity to visit the Penrose Library this morning and saw a
most wonderful exhibit of linoleum block prints by Sherry. The main
complaint I had with the show is that it needs more people seeing her
beautiful work.

On the other hand, I don't get out of my little hole very often to see work
elsewhere.

Also, be on the lookout for Tracey Coey ,who coincidentally is also
"moving" to South Africa! And I also was told of all of the family details.
A $3000 scam --I think I wrote about a short time ago. Skipping the
details, I can tell you I was not out the money or any art. Police advised
e-mailing "Transaction cancelled. Police alerted." I have a souvenir $3000
fraudulent "check"
