Didn't we vote last year that since it's Baren Forum one exchange a year would be moku hanga?  To stretch us, learn new techniques, etc.
Even if I'm mistaken about that, I vote moku hanga.

Dear fellow Bareners of '46...

I promised, as your coordinator, to start bothering you about now. The prints
are due in my mailbox November 1st. The drop-out day is fast approaching
(October 1st)

I have heard from almost everyone on the 'List of 30', those who are
participants. I still need email confirmations from the following to be sure
you are still participating:

John Spangler
Scott Betz
Mary Grassell
Austin Still
Viza Arlington
George Jarvis (I did receive an email response but it was in Japanese so am not
absolutely sure that was valid)

For the above, please respond as soon as possible because we do have some
anxious people on the waiting list. If you will be dropping out, it will give
them a chance to participate.

I have not heard from everyone on the waiting list. Could the following
re-confirm your email address?

Claudia Coonen (I tried emailing you but it bounced back, not sure why)

To get you all revved up, I now have two colophon entries (Maria Arango &
Jeanne Norman Chase) and am waiting impatiently for their prints to arrive.

This is a fascinating video!

...and my vote is no to the winter exchange being always moku
hanga. Devoting the winter exchange to all moku hanga excludes
a whole season of participation and winter topics for lots of us!

(...perhaps everyone should try wood engraving, just to stretch
us, learn new techniques, etc... ? ;-) )

I don't mind trying something once or twice, but devoting a
quarter of our exchanges to moku hanga is a lot. And it feels
exclusionary. When this was introduced it was more like an edict.

I liked it when we all did what we did and shared it with one
another in our exchanges. It was a far more inviting way to
lead people to new techniques!

Hi Sharen--

I think you make a good point. I'm open to the idea of having "open-
technique exchanges". Especially because I personally have decided
to only focus on working in one technique due to lack of time and
interest. But if the group does vote for a specific technique,
then I don't think it should "always" be dedicated to the same season
each year.

A heartfelt thank you to all who replied to my request for information
regarding purchasing an antique printing press. All of your information
led me to confidently make a fair offer, and firmly walk away from the
deal. I thought that was the end of it and sent off an email to Sharen
(in Chicago) thanking her for her solid and detailed information.

"If you are willing to let it go…"

He came back and offered me a better price, I turned him down again. He
then threw an 1880’s massive book press into the deal, which I negotiated
down to an even lower price for the 2 presses.

I walked away with 2 presses for less than half what he was asking for
one. I thought I would sell the book press (it took 2 of us to wheel it
into the house), but I am intrigued at what I can do with it, so it is now
a decorative piece in the living room.

More importantly, I have an awesome new small press in the studio that,
thanks to all of you, I paid a fair price for. Thank you again!

Excellent!

Keep the book press, they are great for drying prints flat when you print
with dampened paper and flattening paper in general. I have also used mine
to fix warped blocks, as a paper drier when I make paper, to blot out excess
ink from oil-based inks and, of course, to bind little books!

Just looked at Exchange 42 online. Really impressive prints! Quite a few of
them were very serious in nature and I wanted to think there was a theme,
