Good morning all,

Dave, what a wonderful idea. My computer skills are not really up to the level required, but as I do research for my art history classes, I run across many interesting printmakers who do not always fit into the time constraints of the class, but of course have great interest for me and our printmaking community. I would love to be able to forward this information to someone who can organize it and share it. It will also be nice to have the ability to reference any of these artists for research and inspiration.

Thank you for all you do.

Annie, regarding your blog image of the page you are carving from John
Eliot's Wampanoag Bible -- what happens if you make a mistake (i.e.
accidentally nick a letter off)? And if that happens, how would you
fix it?

Perhaps, Louise, they are upset at us because of all the cold weather
that comes down from Canada at this time of year:-)

Clive

Sharen - it's not international now as they ask for US entries only...

I've noticed that there are a number of Shows with that restriction...a
pity for us nearby in Canada...

Harper College Small Works Show prospectus is available here:

In earlier years this was a wonderful international print
exhibition. It has changed over the years to include other art
forms, and it has become small in the size of the works entered,
but it retains its high level of quality!

Best wishes,
Sharen

I've just been informed that the 'scholarly' London journal, "Print
Quarterly" (http://www.printquarterly.com )
has published a review of senior curator Bill North's CATALOG from last
spring's exhibition of my prints and drawings at the Beach Museum of Art.
How did they even LEARN of the exhibition, I wonder??? I haven't seen the
review yet (and I think it's more about the catalog than about my work) but
I'm told the opening sentence reads: "For various reasons, very modest
exhibition catalogues are sometimes worth noting in Print Quarterly." How
intriguing!

If you're at all interested, an on-line version of the catalog is here

Sorry to have been such so absent from the forum in recent months -been
painting and drawing and not woodcutting, so not much to add to this
conversation, but I am alive and well and lurk-lurk-LURKING (in a nice way)!

- Mike

Renee,
We are excited about this project on the council and really want to make all this information into some sort of great ongoing database. I am sure someone on this list will be able to do this and I think sending info to whoever ends up doing this is a fabulous idea.
my best
Barbara
