Seems like this is a decision for the Baren council and would require a
majority vote on the part of the membership.

I vote NO, Baren is Baren, Facebook is Facebook.

OK,
Maybe I should chime in.
You can create a "group" on Facebook.
Anyone can ask to join the "group", but a "moderator" says yes or no.
This is in no way meant to replace, or takeover Baren.
Just a place to post pictures and chat, sorta like "After Five" with
pictures.

OK, not supplanting or replacing or anything, just a place to hang
out, ONLY IF YOU WANT TO.

Charles,
I've been on Facebook for a while. I don't remember any random people
trying to contact me. Nor do I find "ads" annoying. It is easier and
more immediate to use for me. Images can be posted easily. I might
post more often - that might be a down side. :-) I like Yahoo! too,
for groups such as this, tho' it's not quiet as immediate as FB and Y
has ads too. If Baren stays as it is, I'll continue to read.

There's an awful lot of nonsense on Facebook, many times it's not worth going through the posts, so many repeats and a lot that's of no interest.  I belong to one that is for local, it's sometimes useful just because it is local.

I find all the different venues rather overwhelming. I don't Facebook nor Twitter and don't plan to. My vote would be to keep Baren as is.

I guess I'm just an old analog...

Dreamweaver is wonderful but it sure is involved.
I learn what I need to know and move on...
you might find the list interesting.... see below....
Photoshop is suited for image design photo manipulation application
not html code... You can save as a pdf file and dump this into a html
page and then to an ISP.

Why wouldn’t it work on your Blog?
Send me the url and I will look at it.

I will cast my vote with Charles. I do not want to Facebook. I am quite happy here in my "analog" world, as I believe it was put. Feel free to go ahead but I won't go there.

As a sometime user of facebook (but a daily reader of Barenforum) I
would NOT be interested in having Barenforum on Facebook. My facebook
page is a mess the way it is and I think I would just block any Baren
postings.

Would anything new be added? And what would that mean for folks not on
Facebook but who are dedicated contributors to Barenforum?

Best to all!
