Hey,

I want to express my thanks and appreciation to all of you at Baren. I
joined exactly one year ago today. Previous to that I was in the habit of
creating only one print a year. During this past year I've done a total of
SIX prints! My greater involvement in printmaking is thanks to the wonderful
support that Baren provides, the exchanges, the forum, the community...

This question is aimed at those [Baren] members who sell their work.

For the past year or so, on a very small scale, I have worked with
'affiliates' - people who help advertise my prints, in return for a
small percentage of resultant sales. I have been approached by some
people who have seen this, and who are thinking about a way to work
with this idea on a bit of a wider scale. The question is:

"Do you think there are many printmakers/artists out there who would be
interested in having their work exposed in an environment where many
people would see it, with the proviso that if viewers wanted to
purchase the work, a commission would be payable to the venue where the
work was being shown?"

I think the idea is to have images used in electronic 'photo frames',
where they would be shown in never-ending slideshow fashion, with a way
for the viewers to order the images they want.

What are your general reactions to such a concept? (Vague as it is, at
this point ...)

I think anything that sells work is good. Of course one would have to run this by their galleries to be sure they did not go crazy if they realized you were doing this. Vague though it is. I think you would only be "leasing" images this way, not really sending them the work, although I guess it could lead to sales.
