Hello.

I can't believe I'm saying this but I am actually enjoying being coordinator.
It's been fun to look at each image as I lay the piles out and collated them.
I've also learned how to do a colophon. The largest lesson of all is to go
back to being the person I was long ago, enjoying process rather than focusing
so much on goals. Thank you all for bearing with me.

Exchange 38's packages long ago were all sealed and ready to go but for a few
items... I need a bit more information in order to complete the colophon.

In order to complete it, several person's information seems to be missing...
from the coordinator email page. Whether or not you included the information
in your mailing (email or hard copy), would you please send it directly to me
soon? The format is below.

Thanks.

Good. I was under the impression that someone (of little experience
or authority) had started a list.
To earn the prestige and honour of such a title as “Master” would need
to be a body of informed and knowledgeable persons. You can liken it
to appointments like the “Citizen of the year”, “Lieutenant Governors
award”, and/or “Order of Canada”. Dave can elaborate on what the
body is in Japan that awards the Master classification. Age and
experience is one of the criteria in any award.

Greetings Ruth (and all)

Thanks for your comment about my prints.

They are actually transcribed from direct observation onto wood then cut and
printed in the western manner (oil and platen press, although sometimes I
use my intaglio press). I say transcribed because I make no real attempt to
copy them and don't reverse the designs. Some of these little critters are
up on top of cathedral ceilings and arches, so it would be impossible to
make rubbings of them.

The Gundestrup theme animals that I have focused upon are enclosed in high
security glass as they embellish a silver cauldron that is one of Denmark's
most precious objects. These two web pages may give you some idea as to my
method of working:

Harry,
this was amazing. I think we should all take a little time to wander the internet and look at what all these national museums have hiding on their sites. What a beautiful bowl. Makes us realize we have not learned a whole lot of new art in 2000 years.
My best

Subject: Colonial Clouds
Posted by: Annie B

I love my local public library. I found a book there called A Dictionary of Colonial American Printers' Ornaments & Illustrations and I've been poring over it for days. All of the ornaments and illustrations in the book are relief prints produced in the American colonies from 1639 through 1773. As I looked through the book I noticed what seems to be a convention in depicting clouds,
