Hello Benny:

Benny I am sorry. Maybe my package went for second revision or got lost in the US mail. It always intrigues the post man that I am mailing envelops from one city and put a return address to another city.

I fell sad if I cannot participate in this 38 exchange. But I will feel sadder if I have to be penalized for future exchanges. I am still looking for the receipt but I always throw them away.

Next time I will ask for a tracking number. I am so sorry to cause all these worries.
Best Regards, Guadalupe

Dra. Guadalupe Victorica

As a matter of habit, I've included a half inch margin around my exchange
prints and included a line around the picture on the key block.
This gave something to support the edges of the paper when printing.

For Exchange 39 I was thinking of breaking old habits and letting the
picture
bleed to to edges. In my Ukiyo-e books, for example, I see very few
prints with a border.

My question is how is this done? Are the color blocks and paper cut so
precisely that no pigment leaks up onto the baren in printing,
or is the paper printed with margins and then trimmed after, or what?

Thanks for your thoughts on this,

Roy

In the old days, they had no interest in having margins on the finished
item, so just cut everything as close as they wanted. There is no
'bleed' printing possible in this technique, so if fine (or no) margins
are what you need, trimming after printing is the way to go ...

Dear Guadalupe.

I'm very sorry that you have had a bad experience with mailing. And I
encourage you to continue to participate with the exchanges. Maria is very fair...

There was the box of library books that I once had to mail to my own hometown
in the USA. They arrived an entire YEAR after I had to pay for new books...
no thanks to the USA post office. One just never knows when a package will show
up... if ever.

I recall that you said that you didn't mail from Mexico. I have spent a bit
of time in Mexico... and will always remember being in Cuernavaca for a
wonderful two weeks in a language school. My devoted fellow at the time wrote me
consistantly and I was so glad to get his letters. After I'd been there more than
a week the postmaster called me into his office. There he informed me that he
would expect money in order for me to receive my letters. At that moment I
knew that no letter meant as much as my pride in not adding to the corruption. So
I understand what you have to go through to participate.

Wait, dear friend, until the last moment when I send everything out to be
sure that the package hasn't arrived. Who knows it may still arrive yet! I
haven't been to the studio today... having been ill for about a week I finally slept
a full night, then all day today.

If, by the time the prints go out, your package hasn't arrived, I'm sure that
Maria will quietly make an exception to the rule. She is a very understanding
person. What she can't do is do it publically. That would mean that others
would be inspired to misuse the system.... and believe me, some of the ones who
participated in Exchange 38 are not the best people for being considerate to
put it mildly! So just, please, try to hold on until the last minute... who
knows.

If your package arrives after the prints are sent out, I'm sure that I will
be sure to send it on.

So sorry that it has been hard on you.

OH FARK!!!!!!

Autoreply put my email into the basket without showing that it would go to
the general public.

My apologies.

Sorry, Maria.
