Yes, you can upload your photo for the digest - BUT it has to be square
& very small in size. If you don't have a photo editing program or you
don't know how - send it to me & I'll resize it for you & send it back
to you to upload. It will not print out in the digest if it is 1.5
megabytes! It should be about 17 kilobytes or so.
And please don't send me a 10 megabyte photo to resize = remember I'm
on a dial-up connection!

PS: Remember, it won't come up on the digest unless you actually post
something! I would love to see some posts on Baren proper again!
Hello to All:
After 3 productive months in Europe, I'm back at work (in Toronto)
and trying to decide which sketches will end up as paintings and
which will be woodcuts -
am inspired by the beautiful catalogue of the 'EHON' exhibit at the
N.Y. Public Library last year to attempt a book but that will
probably take years to
produce. ...........
I've started a reduction print printed in the 'hanga' technique -
printed the first colour but as it will take time to cut away for the
next one am afraid to leave
the stack of paper dampened for fear of foxing or mold - how long can
one generally leave a stack of dampened paper waiting? and if one
lets the prints get dry
can they safely be re dampened for the next colour ? I had
experimented with this last year and found the colour bled a little
onto the blotting paper I
lay between prints .... actually the same happened with
newsprint for interleafing ......any advice out there re this problem?
BTW I never heard from the person in the U.K. (sorry, I forgot your
name) who was headed for the 'Art In Action' event near Oxford how it
went - I recall
the day you were setting out it was fine but the next day(Fri) when
we'd planned to go, the rains came - we were inundated in Hampshire-
driving a longish
distance seemed risky and we had a small flooding in part of the
house to mop up... unfortunately my friend couldn't go on the Sat or
Sun when the rain
abated ... was it dreadfully muddy at Waterperry and did the show go
on as they say???? Did you meet the printmaker Nana Shiomi who I was
hoping to see?
thanks

I was also wondering what would happen when redampening paper when
water-based ink or watercolor is used.
This is a recommendation for a Scanner which I love. After many months of
searching, buying, and then returning, I found the one that works with my
computer and that does exactly what is needed ---scanning, including slides and
resizing proportionally .Easy and fast! And in inches, not pixels It does
many other things, too, which I haven't experimented with. Not expensive. .
