Hi all,
Just to let you know I had an unexpected free day yesterday and so
managed to make final proofs of my wood engraving of Charlie. I've been
having trouble keeping flecks in the scorped-away areas from printing
and wonder if I made a mask with a window for the print area and placed
it over the block after inking, it would protect the paper?
I used the Chinese paper and it worked a treat! It gives a lovely crisp
image and is light enough to watch progress during burnishing. It never
looked in danger of tearing. My burnishing wasn't perfect, I suspect I
need a bit more experience inking up the block as I was extremely
careful to burnish fully and kept peeping to check progress but one or
two areas refused to come up any darker. I put it down to not enough
ink in the spot.
Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed my day...lunchtime came and went unnoticed
(most unusual for me!) and it was 3.30pm before I looked at the clock!
Where does the time go?
My final proof is on my blog:

you're interested. I shall probably print up a small edition at some
point, I can't imagine doing 50 with a teaspoon! LOL!
