You got it! It was his prints I saw at the Print Fair.

Hi folks, just wanted to let you Connecticut folks know that I will be
making an extremely brief appearance on a show called "Pet Talk" this weekend on
Channel 12. I was contacted by them through my website, which they found
since they wanted to make a special show with a Japan theme, and since my
imagery includes many pet-type animals etc.

The air times are:

Saturday 9am, 1pm & 330pm
Sunday 9am & 730pm

As I say, the spot is very brief, so I didn't have a chance to give much
info about the process (I did display the various tools and had a couple of
layouts of prints in progress), but it was fun. Of course I especially enjoyed
meeting the dogs who made appearances on the show, particularly the Japanese
chins.

There is a good book about Arthur Wesley Dow on abebooks.com for $25...it is $64 on Amazon...I enjoyed it a lot. Arthur Wesley Dow and American Arts & Crafts.

If you go to the main page of the baren website and write in Arthur Wesley Dow in the google search at the top of the left hand corner, you will get all the archived messages about him from our site. I really enjoyed this book and bought his book on composition...somehow it was not too excitiing. I also have the book of his photos, nice but not fabulous.

Hi
It sounds like most everyone has their own press?
Any suggestions. I've been printing by hand since college,
and day dream of getting a press. I'd have to rummage for some
room - but maybe if I have an idea of what is working for others it
could become reality faster.

It's great to hear all the exchange on ways of printing - acetate and plexi.
Inspiring to blow off work and get in the workshop.

Oh my gosh!!! I believe I've finally taken leave of
ALL of my senses. I recieved a fantastic print today
from the Year of the Boar and I noted the address was
subtly wrong. Yeah...I messed up on sign up.

re B.J.O. Nordfeldt - i forgot the "t" on the end of his name
i will read thru the book i have to see other names .the only "A" i
remember as this time is Agnes Wienrich . Nordfeldt definetly started the
"movement" ,as i was reading in Blanche Lazell's booklet , she talks about
how he decided to carve a line between all the shapes and print over and
over in color- much like Hanga -which he had studied in Japan .the
provincetown Printmakers were the FIRST woodcut Association in the USA and
,obviously , not the last ! your best bet, i think, would be to contact the
Provincetown Art Association & Museum , who still exist and know the most
about all these early woodcut artist who wintered in P-town in the 20's and
got together to learn and share their prints
