Hello.

My name is Steffan Ziegler. I've an addiction to woodcut, with an annoying
"hobby" as a Data Analyst that unfortunately often distracts me from my true
passions.

I've a BFA in Printmaking from the University of Washington, and for the
last five or six years I've moderated the very active "printmaking"
community on livejournal, (http://printmaking.livejournal.com/) I
currently live in San Francisco, with my wife and black cat, and I am
essentially, (and in no particular order,) fat, dumb, and happy.

I am here to expand my printmaking horizons, and to participate in more
exhanges, to keep my knives sharp, so to speak.

Well met,

Steffan.

Oh gosh, I hope I got on exchange #32. I want to change over to the un-themed list.

Amazing that we have done 31 exchanges so far, isn't it? This is a very dedicated, reliable bunch of artists. That's 30 x 31 = 930 different prints. I could open a gallery with the prints I have accumulated. Mostly, it's an awe-inspiring motivation to keep working.

Hi!

I'm trying to consolidate my comments. Although I
spent years in the Silicon Valley working on/with/for
all the latest and greatest in soft & hardware, I'm
new to blogging, and suspect I'm not quite in the
blogging groove yet!

Thanks to Mike Lyon for helping to get me started -
and wow! what a great site you have. I'll go back to
look at more thoroughly, but I appreciate the Japan
trip info, and your work including, but not limited to
the doggies!

Gayle - nice work! I especially like the dracula, and
tall, gaunt & handsome (not correct title, sorry) and!
the snow shovelling hat and resulting print!!! super!
I wish I had one, really. :) I can also relate to the
struggle of doing portraits in woodcuts. I hear often
that they look sad. and they do. especially one self
portrait done a couple of years ago - but hey! i WAS
sad! so that'S probably why it looks sad!

Diane Cutter - also nice work! man! there is a lot of
nice work in this forum. I especially like your prints
from Latin Amer. and maybe after a while I'll be able
to write you in spanish - but not for a while, as I'm
just starting! hope to do a mural project in costa
rica next year and am praying to be able to
communicate with the other artists at least a little!

Peter Petersen - thanks! you were the first response I
got from the forum, and thanks for the great tip! on
the workshops here in berlin. Ich habe es angeschaut,
und es sieht super aus! Ich glaube ich melde mich für
März. (thanked for reference to a studio in berlin
offering workshops in japanese woodblock printing)

Rahmen - also NICE work!!!

Eva Pietzcker - thanks for your email. wow! you guys
seem to have a very nice workshop and program. And I
really like your work! Ich melde mich bald. Froh Neues
Jahr!

and Hello Sharrie! and thank you for the welcome!
