speaking of dogs--when i look through the 'Year of the DOG' gallery on the
baren website , i see three dogs which i did not recieve-i like them and
hope it is an oversight or you just haven't yet gotten to my name on your
list??
the dogs by Claude Villeneuve , Ellen Shipley and Robert Viana are not
hanging in my dog gallery yet - i do hope they will be soon --thanks --

I got the nicest surprise today, I knew it was coming to me one day, but not when.
I got the most beautiful print by Gary Luedtke called "Morning Light at Hilo Bay" It is just lovely with very vivid colors and wonderful bokashi shading.

This piece is a collaborative piece, designed by Gary, carved by Dave Bull and printed by Shinkichi Numabe. It takes my breath away......so lovely. Even Lee liked it. As some of you know, while supportative as spouses can be, they are in a fog about art most of the time.

Of course the internet does not compare to the real thing....

I have several of these Mokuhankan pieces and I think the turtle is my favorite...one would have to go far to surpass it. Very subtle and so beautiful...
Well, I guess this is a promo of sorts but I was just so excited to see the real thing. I will bring them to the summit for all to see.

Barbara, thanks for this!

That print really did turn out wonderfully ... much better than I had
expected to be able to do. I think I'm a pretty good printer, but there
is no question that Numabe-san - although he is exactly my own age -
has _so_ much more experience than I have ... and it certainly shows in
this one.

Problem for me now is how to find suitable designs for more Mokuhankan
releases. There must be plenty of people out there capable of creating
concepts that could become prints like this, and I've searched around
on the net here and there ... but haven't really found much suitable.

If anybody has any ideas/recommendations/etc. I'd like to hear about
them!
