I spent way too many years doing "pretty art" because I thought

I can't tell you how refreshing this is. We have actually said the
word Politics and the site has not crashed. Just when I wrote
privately and told Jason that when this word had been said previously
the world had ended. Yes, I am all for a political exchange, count me
in, too! This is my cup o tea. But, what brought about this change of
sensibilities? Whatever it is, I am all for it!! Kollwitz, Beckman,
Schiele, etc. must be turning in their graves with joy --

I've thought for a long time that "Trees" would be a good theme for an
exchange..... the source of our blocks, much of our paper and tools....
and for me a favorite subject.

Nix to an election theme.... Baren is not just the US.

Great idea! I think trees would be a good one, too.

I just can't get into the idea of an election theme, either.
Although, with my new monster prints, that could change.....LOL.

Carole,
You are so right...politics now involves the whole world...we are truly becomming a global economy and the internet is pushing it like a bullddozer. I don't think we mentioned an election theme, just a political theme or possibly it could be called the human condition, since we don't seem to learn from our mistakes.
Trees are fine, very safe subject, I love trees.

Hi All,
I've been sidetracked lately but the idea of a
political exchange got my attention! Seems to me
like what's happening is so big and alarming that to
not comment artistically is insane. I haven't had the
courage to participate in a baren exchange but I'm
inspired for this one!!!
