Barbara, your press sounds exactly like the small Dick
Blick press that I have. I wonder if they might be
manufactured by the same people. And I agree, I like
mine. It works very well.
I got one of those food service carts (like on
airlines) at a surplus sale and it fits on top
perfectly. The cart is on heavy duty wheels and has
enough space inside for most of my supplies.
I've never done large plates anyway. This does not, of
course, eliminate a bit of press envy.

Hannah and others, No there is no size limit on the pieces for the
August exhibition of Summit attendees. So, please get me your jpegs
and start making plans to ship me something around the middle of July.

If you are planning to attend the summit please let me know soon so I
can add your name to my email list (which I haven't made up, yet, but
plan to do this afternoon) because I have some questions that I want
your opinion on and if I don't have your name I don't know who you are.
If you want a say in these things I need to know - otherwise, you
don't dare complain to me if you don't like the outcome. However, if
you are on the list and you don't like the outcome you have the right
to complain as much as you want. Deal? Deal!!

Come one, come all - the summit will be super educational (and super
social) and we might even learn something about woodblock - anything
can happen! If finances are a problem just let me know and we will see
what we can work out. There are local people who have offered
accommodations, and most of the meals are included. So, if finances are
the only thing holding you back, let me know soon! We aim to please
:-)

Cheers!

Charles,
Thanks for your response. I do plan to experiment w/ the dispersions and am
as I said, intrigued by the possibilities. I will also try and get a hold
of Art Guerra and ask him about this somtime. I have used his alkyd
dispersions in the past and now wonder if he isn't just mixing his aqueous
dispersions in this case w/ an alkyd base. If this works, it would save him
from having to use different milling equipment for the different
dispersions. Jeb

By all means, please let me know what you find out. I do not want to be
spreading false or misleading information. And, as I said, I do not
remember where I got the information about ethylene glycol. Both ethylene
glycol and propylene glycol are quite hygroscopic and mix well with water,
and I believe both are actually classed as alcohols. I believe both also
mix readily with oil. Propylene glycol is medically much safer, so would be
the better choice for dispersions, assuming it works at all.

Anyway, I can say that mixing his dispersions with etching tint base works
quite well. So whatever he is using, encourage him to continue!!!!

Cheers ..... Charles
