Deborah,
I just bought it but it is still in the crate..it looked good in the store and although light weight (which was it's appeal for me as I want to take it to schools) it seemed sturdy. They guraranteed it would print an etching. I will try it this weekend and let you know how it works. I got it on sale with the blankets for $475, 11" x18" bed.
Best to you,
Barbara

Hello My Peoples!
I just bought a bunch of hosho professional from graphic chem and it is not sized. How do I go about sizing it? Can I use spray starch like you get for shirts and the like? Or is there and even better product? All the help I can get will be very much appreciated!
Cheers, Rob

Dear Bareners,

I have really enjoyed the portfolio that John Center put together and with
all the extras! Very nice.

One not-so-good-thing is that I noticed that my print was off-setting onto
the cover paper. I had so much trouble with that ink. Usually, I find that
the products that I order from Daniel Smith are very good, consistent and
reliable, with the exception of the transparent relief ink, oil based. It is
extremely difficult, the viscosity of tar. I added my favorite Miracle Gel. It
actually rolled but each layer was very waxy. It pulled some of the previous
layer of ink, every three or four prints the ink built up on the block and I
had to scrape the block and then ink again. I tried to get very thin layers
as usual but it just wasn't happening. Now, I kind of liked that
'encaustic' look, it added a roughness to the image. But for this print that is not
what I had in mind in the beginning. Sometimes it is good to be adaptable.

Best to all and Happy New Year,

Renee
Rainy and very windy.
