What has been so enjoyable about the postcard exchanges is the diverse, unique and wonderful ways that it is approached, both use of materials and the ways the subject of the year is explored. The range of beauty and thought and creativeness is one of the things that these postcard exchanges celebrate. To be able to share that celebration of creation with others is a joy.

Kim,
I agree. I have done my prints as a relief print but not woodblock since we started doing these new years exhcange prints and I have a little theme going. It just sort of happened and now I like the idea that evey year I make one print in this manner. I print it with oil instead of waterbased inks, as the block would not hold up to water, but they are such fun prints to do and I have used them for so many things. Not numbering them and having open editions has been great. I have printed them with different color combos and freely given them away to all. It has been a huge amount of fun and nice to have a little "token" to hand out. I keep saying I am going to get them into albums...those of you who are so organized have my admiration...so far they are still in filing folders! But maybe this will be the year! One can only hope!

Is it okay for me to cut and use 8.5 x 11" paper for the Year of the Dog
exchange prints? 4.25 x 5.5

I also have a problem getting the poem. I keep getting an 'Error Page" instead.????????
I thought I had saved the poem from a previous year but got a new computer last summer and obviously I didn't put it on a disc. Suggestions?

I received my "Upward Facing Dog" print on Christmas Eve and I was
tickled by it!
It doesn't change what I am going to do for my print but I started
thinking on other ways to interprete the theme- which I appreciate. I
also think having dogs kinda influences my choice. I want to pay tribute
to my little fuzzball friends. On the other hand, I am having some
problems containing my dogs in postcard format- although the size does
seem to lend itself to Corgis quite nicely. Hmm.
