Newby here with another of those dumb questions. What is a printmaking
colophon? Here's one Google "define:Colophon" definition I found:

"A statement found at the end of a book. A colophon may give information
about the typography and printing methods used in the book or may serve as a
statement of printing limitation."

Is it for the whole exchange or for each submission? Is the author going to
cut each name into a block backwards!? Would you need anything besides my
name? Or am I jumping the gun for exchange #27?

BTW, I finished rough cutting my blocks for #27, but still have to tweak
registration and colors, before I print. And I may need a gray block.

just received my first dog card in the mail, and wanted to say how impressed i was not only with the print, but with the way that robert thought "outside the box" when defining "dog"! next year i will have to cast my net a little wider. thanks robert, for what will hopefully be the first of many cards headed my way!

Woo hoo your first dog! Oh, this is fun! I won't be creating mine for a couple of weeks, but I've been drooling over paper and color schemes in my mind.

colophon I intend to cut the names in a wood block for a wood cut printed
colophon of all the prints I have in house as of now. Plus I have been in
contact with one person who is sending it in soon.

I got my block done today...had to sit in the gallery for hours with absolutely no one coming in all day...so took all the dog books I had checked out from the library and the print I am making is nothing like I thought it would be...there is not even a dog in it. Amazing the turns our minds take and how one image can excite us and another is boring. I find I have a real hard time printing a lot of prints from a block if I am not excited about the image....this was probably why my monkey went with the rooster...I just could not settle on an image I liked till November a year late! But the dog block is good to go...no ancient dogs, no frisbees.....wait and see! I did do quite a bit of research on ancient dogs....it was pretty facsinating. They were used for beasts of burden, for food, for hunting, for pets and as guard dogs, also as fighting dogs. What a history.
Best to all,
Barbara

I am continually amazed at the dedication of people on this forum. It would
be great if you did a blog on your process and progress.
