Bareners,
I was intrigued by a catalogue that listed a book 'Surimono prints by elbow' (hiji -zuri).
Running a Google check on the Japanese word only referred to the book catalogue summary that I was actually reading and Yahoo had a reference from H.O Johansson's website in the Q and A section to "Gauffrage, embossed printing, was done with an inkless plate impression"
This brought me to an article which includes a fine illustrated contribution by David on Karazuri

Have Bareners ever used their elbows to print : and how did you do it?
All fascinating to a newcomer from 'oil' techniques.
