Louise did you get my emails about sleeping on the boat? The offer is still
open and you are welcome. But I do understand if it turns out not to be
your thing. There would still be room for one or two other ladies for the
2006 summit. Anyone interested email me off list and I will describe it and
email a pic for you.

Sounds like this thing is taking on a life of it's own....
all of us living close will work to make it fabulous..or as close to it as we can.
I started a yahoo group mailing list for anyone who wants to help...I invited all I could think of who live close, but if you did not get the invitation from yahoo or want to help plan, email me and I will add you to the list. Think we can plan it and then post our ideas on the list for a yes or no vote and we can go from there when we see what people might like to do while here.
With so long to plan is should turn out well. When it gets closer we will take pictures of Sharri's studio and surrounding area and post. It is really nice, so all who come will love Southern Washington. Of courese Oregon is better....sorry, couyldn't resist that.
We can get the people who do moku hanga all the time to give a few lessons and perhaps Dave will be able to make it. We will keep our fingers crossed, but no pressure Dave! HAHA
Jan, you are coming so far...we will be please to have you here...we will squeeze in as many as we can! The van holds 7 and we have two pull out queen bed couches, plus lots of floor.
I am already getting excited to see everyone again!
Best to all,
Barbara
Jan,
Bring a humpy for each of us, and, while you're at it, tell us what it
is!
I believe they have yurts which you can rent at the campground at
Astoria, OR. They're in high demand, though, so you have to reserve
them early, if you go down there. That will be in the middle of the
Lewis and Clark Bicentennial, so reserve now or forever hold your
peace. L & C spent their winter in the NW at Fort Clatsop, and that is
exactly where the yurt experience can be had - I think it is a State
Park.
But, I guess we have to settle on a date, first. How about August 14
(Monday) - August 18, 2006 (which is a Friday). There you go, folks -
what do you think?
Cheers,
Sharri
Hi Georga,
I would love to meet everyone again. I can arrange to meet usually any day if given a little notice. I am at the west end of the San Fernando Valley in West Hills near Calabasas, but I can drive over the hill as they say so that it is closer to all of you . Maybe somewhere in the middle between Bea's and Ruth or Bobby's. Not sure exactly where everyone lives. I am also up to having everyone to my place ,but it would a bit of a drive. Let me know what you all think and what dates might be good?

i cant wait to hear what a "humpy" is ......Jan ?
but if any one is seriously interested
in learning aboutYURTS
write to:
Bill Copperwaite,
Dickinson's Reach,
Machiasport ME 04655 USA
he runs the YURT FOUNDATION
which is dedicated to the study , use and
celebration of Curvilinear structures.
there are at least three yurts here
.the one Bill lives in is a three level,
concentric yurt
these are all wooden structures and not portable
He likes to study the peasants of the world and
their use of tools and their
building of natural materials homes--
probably no website as he is even further off the grid than myself .
but well worth the "write" if you are curious at all about yurts
there is a gorgeous calendar available--
i took 35mm pics out there to the Bucks Harbor section of Machiasport
a few years ago
for future woodcuts--
'woman and dog coming down the path from the three
story concentric........'
i am glad everyone's getting excited about the summit
i am too -- but i wont be able to go
still------ us bystanders can reap the benefits
of what you all who go , will learn --
the beauty of being in the BAREN
gillyin Machias, MAINE usa
>If a YURT is made for NOMADS with sheep, then can I still bring a YURT
>with m e to Sharri's Summit?????? I have 2 cats.
>
Well, of course you can ... but you will have to shear or skin a lot of
cats between now and the Summit if you want to make a Yurt to take with you
....
Cheers ..... Charles
Aug. 14 to 18 works for me. And your place would be great too.... Old Lady drivable.

I think my house is central and I'd be happy to see you all here again. Let's write off list. Did anyone hear from Pete White?
