Thanks for the tips mike! I will try it on the next block. :) I am
so inspired by your work. This time I just reused a past block but
perhaps next time, I will plan it from the start.

Hi Thomas
I like your print, it makes me think when I look at it and that is always
good with Art......seems to be a political statement and I can't figure
out if it's pro or against America....which against makes me think about
the meaning of the image.....which again is a good thing. What I got from
the image is that how America is viewed by the world (Uncle Sam) is a
reflection on each and everyone of us ( 'It's your face"). Maybe you had
something completely different in mind. It's the kind of print and
statements that I sometime try to associate & include in my own work.
You'll love using the Yamaguchi paper...specially when doing more than 4
or 5 impressions per print...it stands up to punishment.....keep up the
good work....
thanks........Julio Rodriguez (Skokie, Illinois)
Thanks Julio. The wonderful thing about an image is that can mean a
lot of things to a lot of people. I had several things in mind when i
drew it. But the most pronounced point is that the government
represents you and its up to you to chose it's face (ie vote). Well
there is more to than that, but that is the core of its statement.
It's is going to be shown at the Paper Politics show in Seattle in
late march.
I totally love that Yamaguchi paper already. I was so impressed with
how it grabbed the block and took the paint. I can see it is well
worth the investment.

Exchange 22 is on its way to all participants.
I want to thank all participants for allowing me to see all of your work
FIRST! What a thrill! Each package arrived to great anticipation. The
downside of coordinating is that with each print that comes in, the
confidence level of mine continues to nose dive.
And thank you to all who sent a little extra. It was appreciated. I
used it to send Colleen Conradi's to Italy by Fed Ex. and the archives
to Stephen Goddard. In case you are not privy, Colleen's last two sets
of prints were lost in the mail. We will see if this works.
This is a very impressive set of prints. The quality of work and the
diverse array of subject matter astounds me. I know I learned alot
about printmaking from this set of absolutely beautiful prints. I
encourage everyone to join in on an exchange, and everyone should take
advantage of coordinating one.
Signing off,
Mary Kuster
