It is very funny to hear Mike say this because I feel EXACTLY the same way,
(though I am an Aries).
I think I like moku hanga because it is one place I can be completely
organized!
My class at the Lower East Side Printshop started yesterday, fabulous
students. They think I am well organized too!

It is very funny to hear Mike say this because I feel EXACTLY the same way,
(though I am an Aries).
I think I like moku hanga because it is one place I can be completely

WOW Mike. I think this list makes doing woodblock a necessity. If you join
it you become a member of a world wide family of fine generous artists that
nothing else can ever match. So you learn woodcut and you do exchanges and
you catch the moku hanga virus. Also, Mike it was time for your work to be
seen, to receive the credit it deserves. Fate, talent and the initiative to
just enter one little competition did that. CONGRATULATIONS.
May we always give to each other with kindness, thoughtfulness and with
generosity. We are opening many new doors for one another, how fabulous
that is.

Yes thank you April for sharing those wonderful photos. And Murilo, I go to
the tip of the Baja Mexico Sur peninsula to live about 6 months of the year.
So I get close to Brazil and would one day love to travel down. Will have
to save my pennies and try to get the husband away from our projects. Thank
you for such a warm invitation.
I think anywhere in the world would be special for a Baren summit, because
Baren people are special.

In response to the last postings, We too have been using oil to clean
up(mostly veggie) then come along and get rid of residue with Isp. alcohol,
or we have a gal (with dispenser pump) of hand cleaner the kind mechiniques
use, some orange type I believe, this works on the brushes.. The other good
one is the soysolve from Daniel Smith, a soy based cleaner, a little pricey
but I've cleaned rollers and surfaces of etching inks. Works great.
Mike , great photos and show ,, congrats!!! I too took my 1st wood block
class from Hiroki Morinoue back in the 80's, I think we were the 1st group
after he returned from studying in Japan. I already knew him from the town
in Kona he's from. I've done other classes with him and learned a lot of
approaches to woodblock.. It's always fun to hear how people got to where
they are.
