Your web page is simple, to the point and easy to navigate.
I enjoyed the myriad forms of your art .
Still an confused by the term "Autographic print".

Jan, you asked whether we thought you should say somethining to the Art
Gallery of Perth about the poor quality of the woodblock presentation.
Some of us probably have some experience wondering about that.

Several times I have asked my husband when I am faced with whether to speak
or not.. He answers "What have you got to lose?" What is the risk? It is
usually the time it takes. ( I have never been arrested)

I feel it is not what you say but the way that you say it. Words like
"correction" or "improvement" may make your comments more acceptable. Offer to give
a presentation at a future date. "What have you got to lose?"

Since I do this all the time I will offer my favorite prescription
which is the stuff that comes in a sheet and has the characteristics of
a double sided tape. It is safe to use as long as all the papers are
dry. Doesn't work worth a hoot if one is dry and other is wet. :-)
And probably doesn't work if they are both wet, either. So, dry paper
is the word. I use Duromount cold mounting film "R" which is archival.
It comes in rolls varying in width from 11 to 64 inches wide. The
phone # for DuroTech, the distributor, is 800-827-1379. This is the
same stuff Yugi uses. I guess neither he nor I are concerned with
future museum conservators running into problems - I figure if he isn't
concerned, why should I be? For plain old chine collé I use wheat
paste in a salt shaker & shake it over dampened paper, after all, I
have to have some pity on those poor future museum folk - LOL

Jan and Barbara, I find it wonderful that you are giving talks, it really
helps to educate people as much as possible about printmaking. Jan, yes i
would mention the lack of knowledge the person giving the tour had.
Especially when she did not want to listen to a skilled artist whou knows
her stuff. I think if you are going to give a tour like that knowledge of
your subject is a must. Otherwise just let the people go in and look
without a tour.

Santaetta just arrived here loaded with pre-Christmas gifts. The
Surimono album and the poetry is really special and the amount of work
our coordinator went to is unbelievable. The beautiful special
portfolio case to hold the prints and the colophon itself are works of
art. This is really so extraordinary, and difficult to describe.
And, that isn't enough - then there are all the beautiful prints.
Congrats to those who risk and perfected mica and metallic pigments -
my hats are off to you! I am impressed with all the embossing in this
portfolio - everyone must have lit on the same idea for the visual
expression of "air".

And, to Bette and Colleen, the cards and the boxes, and the
presentation of the cards is every bit as beautiful and astounding as
the Surimono album. I am totally wowed. Thanks to everyone, and
especially Bette, for their hard, hard work!

PS - Do I owe anyone return postage money? How much and to whom? I've
kind of lost track of the card business. I think I'm okay with the

Hi All,

WoW! It was so great coming home to my package in the mail. What a wonderful
thing to see everyone's beautiful prints in person.
I also would like to send a !big! thanks to Bette for all of her efforts
with the case, etc. I am very pleased with my first exchange and look
forward to the next.

Bette, the extra effort you put into the colophon and surprise folders
for the Surimono Exchange is appreciated. The whole set in their
lovely folders with ribbon ties, is just a handsome thing to look at
and touch
