"Hello All
I'm a new member, making my first post to the forum (which, btw,
seems to be a pretty well run, cordial group of folks.) In just a few
weeks of lurking, it's fun to see how much I've learned and re-learned
by way of the forum.
After several years hiatus, I've jumped back
into printmaking. Of particular interest to me have been (of
course) woodcuts.
I have a studio website:

If you do any surfing around on the site, you'll see that I've
interests in photography and writing, also. My photography days are
waning, though, I'm afraid; I've much more drive to work in a
print studio than a dark room! I tend to work by the seasons, and
my printing season (fall, winter and spring) is fast approaching, so
I'll be making updates to the print section soon. I have a 3 day show
coming up next April, along with another show later in 2005 (in
October) with a friend of mine, so I plan to be a printing fool
this winter.
Any other fly fishers in the forum, by chance?

Hi all! My name is Sandra Taylor. I have been reading (faithfully) the
Baren listings every morning with my coffee and absolutely thrilled
that such a forum exists. I learned of this forum via Frank Trueba a
fellow printmaking student in Santa Cruz, Ca. I want to express my deep
appreciation for all the information that is posted by everyone as I
embark on this new journey. So much knowledge...so much to learn! Baren
/ its members have been most kind and informative! I am hoping to be
able to sign onto the exchange #23 in October.
My background is in Graphic Design and illustration (for commercial
print media). Two years ago I took a 4 week woodcut workshop which I

Thanks, all, for the kind comments. It always makes
me nervous showing my work, but that is in essence why we do this,
correct?!
No, I'm not using Japanese techniques in the
strictest of terms, though I am working to incorporate things I like
about the reduction process with the things I like about the eastern
process(s); I believe in taking full advantage of my artistic
license! In a fewcases, I'm finding this to be a
recipe for disaster, but in most cases, I like the results I'm
getting.
While my printing to date is all done in color,
I've got a series of wood engravings in mind for this winter
(maybe) that are in black and white, with possibly one other color.

Love the domain name. I like your work very much (being rather drawn to piscatorial pictures myself). Not a fly fisher myself - more like a flyfishing 'widow' as my husband often pops down to the Hawkesbury River and woos the Bass (Australian Black Bass)lurking in there.
