I don't know if simple and inexpensive are exactly the right adjectives 
for solar plate.  Exposure times seem to be governed by the gods and 
goddesses, especially if you're using the sun as your uv source, which 
I assume you are.  It will take a lot of experimentation to get the 
time right. You can print relief by hand, but it does seem to do better 
with a press. The plates were originally intended for off-set litho, 
and have been adopted by we printmakers. Since they were originally 
designed for commercial use, they were intended for oil base ink, or 
the water base ink that imitates oil base ink - but, I don't think they 
would work for hanga, if that is the waterbase medium you're 
considering. And, in my book, they are expensive.  You can pick up a 
block of wood just about anywhere and carve an image and print by hand. 
That is about as simple and inexpensive as it can get -  hit the scrap 
bin at your local lumber yard, and if you whine just right, they will 
usually give you what you want. It is hard to get a matrix cheaper than 
free.  Free paper is another problem entirely,  :-)

The Baren Mall is officially closed for a week, but if you need
to order, do so and I will process it from Kansan City. I have
figured out how to do it long distance......and with any luck it
will work just fine.

I am pretty excited about going to the summit and really looking
forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones. We will post
while we are there, I am sure someone will do so and there is
always the summit webcam. Be sure to tune in and see what we are
doing.
