One of the very few positives about our heightened state of security, is that 
the airlines are actually losing very few bags these days. Bags have to be 
matched up with passengers on the manifest, so it is more difficult for them 
to lose the luggage. For those of you as yet unconvinced, there is 
supplemental baggage insurance available. It's been my experience that when I 
buy insurance for something - it never happens and I'm just out the money 
spent for insurance (except for car insurance that is).

have been provided by individual [Baren] members who like these folks, but

I  had not considered that. I had one of my best bags, with most of my 
favorite brushes, paints, some tools, a sketchbook, and all sorts of 
stuff lost coming back from Ireland. I think someone at Heathrow is now 
an artists...
So now when we travel I pack light and buy things where we stay, leave 
them there for the next trip, and it seems to work fine. I have a travel 
easel in Dublin at Kennedy's Art Store, one in Honfluer, and another in 
Amsterdam. This gives me lots of reasons to go back.
Maybe I should start leaving tools too?:)
I am really looking forward to Dublin, even in winter. Retirement means 
I can start taking workshops more and more and I am very excited!

Greetings all, and to Jenn,

Jenn, I'm sure by now someone has directed you to Maria's web site? There
you will see an awesome example of what a woodcut site can be!  Also   Maria
is a font of useful and timely information on selling woodcuts. There are a
number of other bareners who also have sites worthy of lengthy perusal. May
I ask what part of the San Francisco area you are in? I believe there are a
few other bareners in the Bay Area. There are two of us (that I know of) in
the Sacramento area, Patti Phare-Camp, who lives in Carmichael, and myself ,
in Midtown Sacramento, about 12 blocks from the State Capitol. If you
haven't done so yet, checking in past postings on the baren forum, in
Archives is a most rewarding way of getting a feel of who's who, to say
nothing of a treasure chest of information on woodcut. It took me a bit of
time to learn to check out the Archives, but I highly recommend it.
At the risk of repetition, a wholehearted welcome to the world of baren.

Re "Small people"- I knew it! I KNEW IT! That explains a lot. Only
leprechauns and/or elves  could be capable of some of the pranks played
lately on our unsuspecting computers, such as eating a whole digest content
in one sitting.

Sarah- "getting fleeced" arrived and made me and my friends laugh. Thank
you. I'm beginning to cut my sheep card (at least part of the cuts are on
the wood ) but am taking my time, and will probably get them out in the
middle of January. Oh, and Barbara, about Multnomah Falls, how I envy you! I
have spent some time there and hope you post the print on the archives
somewhere for the viewing pleasure of those of us who did not get into the
exchange for which this print is being made.

Hello all--
Thanks for the supplier list. I was excited to find "The Paper Connection" and
hope they are open just before or after Christmas so I can visit when I go home
to Boston. I have two sisters who live in North Attleboro, MA which is just
about 20 mins from Providence.
The kinds of papers listed are those I use when creating blank journals. I have
been working on a series (so far, just the drawings) called "The ABC's of Life"
which I hope to print as part of a self published limited edition Artist Book.
I just need TIME!!

I hope to be able one day to contribute back some of the wonderful hints and
suggestions that I have been gleaning from this forum. Thanks for everything.
