Patti, I will do something when I edit the digests for the Baren 
archives to eliminate the whole email address of members.  These will 
show in the future as (in my case, for instance)  blueman#somewhere 
 rather than blueman#pantek.com Of course you will see the addresses 
as complete in the digests and messages you receive directly in your 
email box, but online at the website itself in the archives, your 
address shouldn't show at the top of your message.    

Julio, in your list you have the place for the Sacred Trees & Endangered 
Species exhibit as Kent State University, but it is at the Meyer Center 
of Big Creek Park in Chardon, Ohio.

Gayle, I wish you would leave the entire email addresses in the 
digest.  The addresses make it possible to go back later and contact an 
individual from his digest email address...  If you want to render the 
addresses unusable for "email harvesting robots", then simply change the @ 
in each eamail address to some other character...  # for example.  That 
will effectively conceal the addresses from programs which scan the web in 
order to build large email address lists.

I also have a Woodcraft store in my neck of the woods....the thing I liked
about them was that they had/have available several species of hardwood
planks sliced very thin...I mean 1/8" all the way to 1" thick.  Back then I
was doing lot of woodworking veneer stuff and learning how to build guitars
& violins. The thin wood was perfect for my projects then.

Like David said, this thin stuff is pretty useless for our hanga
printing....everytime I have tried to save a buck or cut corners by using
thin stock, I end up having severe problems with the wood warping....lots
of wasted time & paper.

Okay, I must have missed mail on what we were to do with the firemans prints 
that were sent to us.  The packet is wonderful and I would love to keep it 
and exhibit when and where I can.  Am I than to make a contribution to the 
fund?  And what is considered reasonable, I am not sitting on a pot of gold 
here but think they are a wonderful part of our history.
As far as size for the exchanges i was under the impression that a little 
difference was acceptable because japanese papers do vary.  i was not 
talking of something much smaller, just, centered mine for aesthetic 
reasons.  It is a horizontal plate and with the extra on the sides on the 
horizontal rather than the vertical it simply is not as aesthtically 
pleasing.  I have printed about half the group and have all the paper cut.  
But i did purchase other paper I can use and recut it.  As a coordinator I 
think I should make a good example here and certainly wish to follow rules 
and guidlines.  But also as an artist I beleive in a bit of slack and like 
work aestically pleasing?????  Most certaily something half the size is not 
appropriate and I do understand the firemans prints being a group donated 
for a cause and more slack there being acceptable.   Most assuredly we have 
such a group of talented artists who exchange work that we want to keep the 
quality high and the standards accetable.  If you have opinions than let me 
know.

Subject: [Baren 18911] Spammers 

I've gotten a number of these really bizarre cons at work on my e-mail
there, probably because I am listed as a contact on a federal website.  So
many of them are so silly, you can't help but wonder how they expect anyone
to take the message seriously.

On the other hand, I've gotten nothing but worms and other nasties
unexpectedly in my home mail box.  One was from "sexy Japanese girl" or the
like, and I thought possibly that one might have had something to do with
the Baren website, altho I suppose most of them have come from my own web
site exposure.  I've had the PC wiped twice in the past 6 months.  I figure
it's my responsibility to keep the virus/ugly definitions updated, altho
anti-spamming software sounds really delicious.
