Also, I know he put work in the freezer as he had an opportunity to take a small vacation right in the middle of printing, so he put it all in the freezer and when he came back it was just fine...so this does really work. Probably just the thing for lots of colors in the summer. In the winter in Japan you are safe...have you seen those pictures of Dave where you can see his breath in his studio?????? I don't think any amounts of heated floor mats could make up for the rest of your body being frozen, unless you wrapped them around you like an electric blanket. Thanks goodness Dave is getting that studio finished. Lets see pictures of the finished thing, Dave. Best to all, Barbara ------------------------------ From: "Jeanne N. Not only does it work to stop the mold growing, but the stack of paper ready to print after being defrosted does somehow seem 'just right' for printing in terms of softness; the moisture is indeed very well evened out throughout the stack. There is another point to add to this topic: In talking about paper moistening, I've been told by any number of printers here "Don't ever use plastic bags for holding your printing paper. It will go moldy much faster than if you use the traditional method of damp cloths to cover the stack overnight." Their point is that air circulation - necessary to defend against mold - is cut off by the plastic. Myself, I'm not sure just how much air 'circulates' through a stack of wet paper interleaved with newsprint and covered by wet blankets, but they are quite adamant that it does make a difference. In my own work I use plastic sheets, but in the summer I keep the batch quantity at a point small enough that I know I can finish the run before running into trouble. I've never tested things side by side - some sheets with plastic, some sheets with cloths - to see if there is any difference. Any scientifically inclined [Baren] member interested in trying an experiment? Dave > Thanks goodness Dave is getting that studio finished. Lets see pictures > of > the finished thing, Dave. Hi Dan, A while back I asked who did the scans for the 'Salon de Refusˇ' for [Baren] Exchange #9 on the Exchange Gallery. The print that is part of that exhibit is the one I did for the #9 exchange not the one I sent for the 'Salon de Refusˇ'. You coordinated that exchange so Carol thought you might have scajnned the wrong print. Did you do the scanning? I can't remember. This is what I wrote: I noticed that my print on The 'Salon de Refusˇ' for [Baren] Exchange #9, Big and Small, East and West, on the Exchange Gallery was the one I sent for the regular #9 Endangered Species exchange. The one I sent for the Salon was a tongue in cheek one called Eddie Kett, a man kissing a womans hand. Does anyone know who sent in the scans of the prints for the exhibit? Is it possible to get it changed? Bea Gold - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Daniel Dew" To: Sent: Friday, July 26, 2002 6:39 AM Subject: [Baren 18799] Re: Question?
