I bought a red roll for about 10 bucks. Renaissance's site is at http://www.printmaking-materials.com Dan >http://www.printmaking-materials.com/newintaglio.html ------------------------------ From: "PHARE-CAMP,PATTI (HP-USA,ex1)" Date: Fri, 26 Apr 2002 14:25:02 -0700 Subject: [Baren 17975] RE: Baren Digest V19 #1810 >I'm a painter as well as a printmaker...snip... John, You fit your name well, you are so clever, I would have never thought of your method. I bet you produce some very dramatic work! I can't wait to try it out for myself, it sounds like so much fun! Makes me want to abandon the block I'm currently carving and start again... I've printed blocks with acrylic paint in the past, I've had no problems as long as I've cleaned the block several times with soap and water during the printing. Straight from the tube a good acrylic paint will be just the right tackiness to roll. Even the cheaper Liquitex Basics roll ok for test prints and teaching grade school kids, but don't try to mix them, they muddy real fast! The idea some of the baraners had of varnishing the block to cancel it is also a great idea, I've wanted to find a way to preserve the relief without it being printable. I'm acquainted with a blind lawyer who loves my blocks. He says it's the only way left for him to enjoy art.
