I think Carol Pulin of Print Alliance Inc. was having a bad day. I've made
the mistake many times of venting at the keyboard.

But I want to add my response to Jean Eger Womack's "non-whiner" comment.

What bothered me is the assumption people make that we're all looking for
public support; I guessed she meant we all want a grant from the NEA or some
other bureau that takes tax money from the public and chooses to whom it
belongs.

We're not all like that, but I can see sometimes why Carol would think so.

Gosh, I wonder if I just committed the "venting at the keyboard" error
again.

You know, some clever programmers should create an ERROR MESSAGE that would
sound whenever it detected a comment that would offend someone out there on
the Net.

#13 isn't full yet I don't think -- why not sign up and print hanga-style?  
Takes less than a desk-top of space to carve and print.  Tools and wood are 
easy to come by -- very inexpensive to get up to speed from a stand still.  
Just a thought, while you are standing around the house bored to tears with 
nothing to do as your piano gathers dust and the workmen, architects, inspectors, 
etc run around in little circles hoping for guidance...  BTW, Jeanne, I am rehearsing 
alone for our March 2 performance of Mahler Symphony 1.  Linda will be out of town at 
a meeting on the day of the performance and I am struggling with Mahler's romantic music 
which evokes butterflies, cuckoos, and thunder showers.  I much prefer baroque -- much more 
rational and abstract.  in addition to the high degree of difficulty of the Mahler -- it's 
almost a full hour long, mostly too fast for me and sometimes too high as well -- it's really 
written for the horns, so my part is full of LONG trills and wild arpeggios.  Looking forward 
to March 3 when the concert's over!

Hi Mike

It must be ESP or something. Today was my first day back in the printing
world. The garage is sort of set up, keep remembering things that I need and
dash to the art store.
Yes, all of the insurance , adjustors etc, are running around and dragging
many feet but I assure you I have been busy cleaning soot off of stuff. That
ended yesterday! Hooray.
 I know that it will only take a matter of time before I have my old studio
back or another so got to work today.
You are right, a hanga print would be just right.
You know I am an "oily person" and never have done a hanga, but a first time
for everything. Are you listening Graham??

I even started practicing the piano again (after I dusted it off)
Mahler must be difficult to master. I like his music in small doses. Love
Baroque ; Corelli, And mostly Vivaldi, my favorite.
Good luck with your concert. Let me know how it goes.

Glad to hear the deadline for print alliance project has been extended - I
won't
have to use express post after all - hope it encourages more people to
contribute -
I don't understand the point you're making Jean Eger Womack - I get asked
for things too
- I'm not a commercial artist either - could have been, I imagine, and
possibly
have made some $'s but I've resigned myself to ekeing out a living and
being pretty
happy with what I do! (more or less - but at least one only has one's own
expectations
or hopes to live up to in the work)
