And a thank you from me to all who took the time to send a wealth of information about digital cameras. I'm on my way to decision. Also, thanks for the press info. My ancient press is a 12" Weber which I think is no longer made. (Its work time was back in the 30's or 40's.)But with research I have come up with what I feel is a reasonable price.......$250. to $300. Onward with woodblock hand printing.........ElizA ------------------------------ From: "Randel Plowman" Date: Thu, 22 Nov 2001 12:45:12 -0500 Subject: [Baren 16198] Re: Thanksgiving : Press Interest >From: "Elizabeth B. The print format is in-between 16 x 20" - 22 x 32". The mailing format is 22x32" (This format has to be used for all mailings even if the prints to be sent are smaller than this size, as the package material will be used for return-mailing and has to be suitable to handle prints up to 22 x 32") This information is also added to the up-date on the information-board http://www.rst-art.com/lpe.htm best regards Rudolf ------------------------------ From: FurryPressII@aol.com Date: Thu, 22 Nov 2001 17:01:20 EST Subject: [Baren 16200] Re: Large Print Exchange From big to little or is it little to big reading this as a sew up my horses have no problem with the length of the big print but 16" is as wide as my press will print (runs on steel rails so I cant change that). I have taken off the grippers so I can print longer than the dead line. The blocks are cut I just have to go get the paper and have ink meet the block. Very good to have a dead line for when the print is due though. I have been sick the last week or two glad i tend to get things done early. john of the furry press John Center Ps looking forward to seeing the flora prints and the fireman prints are coming in as well a very diverse but emotional group of prints ------------------------------ From: "Tyrus Clutter" Date: Thu, 22 Nov 2001 15:57:02 -0700 Subject: [Baren 16201] Firemen Prints >john of the furry press >John Center > >Ps looking forward to seeing the flora prints >and the fireman prints are coming in as well a very diverse but = >emotional=20 >group of prints I have a question about the firemen prints. I am having a show of = exchanges #8 & #10 (I think that is right, which ever two I was in = already) at our galleries in January. I think that that allows for some = good publicity of this other print project and our local paper and the = Boise paper may be more willing to cover the show if this other idea is = brought up at the same time. Are we going to have the firemen prints = posted anywhere on the web? If I can get that website out it may allow us = to sell some of the portfolios in this area. Hi, I think the more exhibits/publicity the better....regarding showing the prints online, since they are not an exchange per say, they probably don't belong under the same umbrella/links with the other exchanges but we can certainly put together a "benefit" page and possibly link it to the main Baren introduction page.... John, If you don't have access to a scanner, I do. Since we are only a mile away or so, we can figure something out later when all the prints are in...my own print is in the cutting stage but will be ready mid december... best to all...Julio ------------------------------ End of Baren Digest V17 #1626 *****************************
