If I read this correctly Maria..... you have purchases all sorts of 
odds and end in the way of tools....  Strikes me you are a Tool Junky.

To all and sundry..... save  your money and by the profession tools 
and be done with it.
All other pale by comparison.

Hi all,

Got my set today. congratulations for everuyone who took part. It's a
lovely little collection to have and to hold.

Congratulations on the exhibition Gayle. Hope it goes really well for
you. It's a nice one for all of us to add to the CV.  thanks for all
your work in coordinating and doing this.

The only other thing I know about kent state university is the massacre
of protestors there during the vietnam war protests. I'm sure it has
improved since then.

I just got my copy of the Lark Books "Simple Printmaking" by Gwen Diehn and
I believe we might have missed mention of some Baren folks. So I thought I
would write a little book review (everyone please stick tongue-in-cheek):
"Simple Printmaking is a star-studded book covering the basics of relief
printmaking and its many exciting variations. Highly recommended book for
those who teach young'uns, many simple projects in there as well as more
complex for the advanced student (well that part is true, nice book and very
well illustrated).
Included in the illustrations and the gallery are such artists as (in no
particular order) Gwen Diehn, Antonio Frasconi, Sylvia Taylor, Albrecht
Durer, Richard Steiner, Sarah Hauser, Pablo Picasso, Maria Arango, Kitagawa
Utamaro, April Vollmer, Edvard Munch, Andrea Rich, and Paul Gauguin."
Gosh, I do hope I did not miss anyone since I don't have *all* members in
front of me right this moment.

Dear Barenworld!
I will add my words of appraisal to the rest about #6. I think it's a set
of wonderful, unique and perfectly executed prints. Thanks everybody, even
those who didn't participate for providing the background for the little
extra effort to achieve something more art than craft.

Mr. David Bull, Ittai Altshuler and Julio Rodriguez, please reply with
price quotes on your works as I have a potential buyer, interested in your
#6 works. Had I any idea on your prices I would have sold them already.

Subject: [Baren 11397] carving tools 

Whatever works best for the individual... use it, but I have to say I've 
tried a number of American tools and cheaper Japanese tools, and they do not 
sharpen to as crisp an edge as the more expensive Japanese tools I've gotten 
from McClain's.  You may have to sharpen these tools a bit more often, but I 
believe they cut better and generally work better (for me, anyway).
By the way, I've used these tools on BIG and tiny woodcuts, all on Shina 
plywood
to each his own,
