John, you have some creative friends, not to mention being pretty creative
yourself.   It's hard to say whether your artists or vandals.   :)   Sounds
like you'll carve up anything!   Just kidding.   It's good to be creative. 

 What were the results?    Were these experimental prints or are these the
materials these artists normally use?

Graham will no doubt have something to say about this, personally I use water 
for my stones as I am working w/water-based pigments on the blocks, etc I 
think it's better to have everything watery as opposed to oily.
